Every year, the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival hold a designs contest and I decided it would be a great place to test market my new illustration style of creating map based images. The test worked and I won! Anyone who knows me well, knows that aside from art my passions are for music and travel. This project allowed me to connect all of my passions in one design. I have received a lot of great feedback with this new direction and am eager to see where these maps take me.
The rally art (below) is ready to rock.
Milwaukeerally.com is live. Click on Buy VIP & Poker Run and buy yourself a VIP rally package. You will be doused with copious amounts of merchandise featuring my work.
You should also be able to find shirts with my art at Milwaukee Harley-Davidson dealerships soon. I’ll let you know when I see them.

Here is the newly revised art for the 2009 Milwaukee Motorcycle rally. The dealers spoke… and they did not like the blue and wanted it to look “tougher”. I completely agreed. There is a lot of blue and cream in the city of Milwaukee, which would be fine if I was creating a tourist postcard.
So, despite historical accuracy, I removed the blue from all of the buildings and created a sunset atmosphere. I am pretty happy with the results… hopefully they will be too. I am going to cross my fingers and hope the major revisions are done.

This is a “rough” of the art I am working on for the 2009 Milwaukee Motorcycle Rally. The local dealers & event management are reviewing it now, but I figured I would post it at this stage.
There is still a lot of details and textures to be added. The bike and typography are going to get the biggest makeover. The bike needs a slicker paint-job and lots of tweaking to the shading and the line-work. The text will be treated similarly.
I wouldn’t be surprised if some flames magically appear on there with some other accents and design elements. It could all change though… revisions can be extensive. Wait and see.
This site will be under construction for a little while, so bear with me as it evolves.
